Ray and Anne Schultz were the founders of the USS Hull Association as they attended a USS Dobbin reunion in 1982 which then announced a reunion in 1983 for the Dobbin and destroyers alongside during the Pearl Harbor attack , to be held in Tampa Florida. Spiz Hoffman and Marge attended and Spiz noted that Ray had attended in 1983 and he called him and they attended the Dobbin reunion in 1984 in Portland along with Geral and Beverly Newsom, Snake Godfrey, Nick Salerno and Ed Dowd. They decided to hold their own reunion in 1985 at the Circus Circus in Las Vegas followed by reunions: Balley, Reno, 1986, Grovener, San Francisco, 1987, Sheraton, Colorado Springs, 1988, Maxim, Las Vegas, 1989,1990,1991, Ramada, Norfolk, 1992, Raddison,,Oklahoma City, 1993, Double Tree, Seattle, 1994, Maxim, Las Vegas, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, Lady Luck, Las Vegas,1999, Biltmore, Oklahoma City, 2000,Pat & Kay Douhan, Ken & Gayline Drummond,sponsors: Four Queens, Las Vegas, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 for a total of 22 reunions. It has been a glorious time for getting together and sharing our association here on earth and many of the shipmates have earned their last reward. They have left a large number of descendents and relatives and I have an ambition to bring them together under an organization: "Typhoon Cobra Reunions"which will include all of the ships involved with us in the typhoon. An effort is underway to collect funds for a memorial to those ships at " Pacific War Memorial" , Admiral Nimitz Foundation, Fredericksburgh Texas and anyone who donates to sponsor deceased and surviving sailors on the memorial will also be welcomed to "reunions" .It is considered that $10.00 will sponsor one sailor, $30.00 would sponsor three, etc. etc. The procedure for donations to sponsor and dues for "Reunions" using , Pay Pal, or personal check is displayed on the web page "services" .
